Age

This week we will learn all about one of the most exciting aspects of wine: the way it matures. Which wines are best drunk young, and which ones can be aged for years? What does time do to a wine? How long are different wines usually aged for? Does old, aged wine always mean better wine? Beginners welcome!

This week’s session will be led by Victoria Phan, winner of the Top Taster award in the 2024 Oxford–Cambridge Blind Tasting Varsity Competition, and international wine tasting competitor.

We will be providing six white and six red wines for the tasting.

We ask that you please aim to arrive 10-15 minutes before the session begins so that we can begin pouring immediately.

Please bring your own set of 6 ISO tasting glasses. Glasses are available to buy here .

Date: Sunday 24 November
Time: 19:30 (Please arrive at 19:20 so we can start pouring at 19:30!)
Where: Club Room, Churchill College, Storey’s Way, Cambridge CB3 0DS
Cost: £20
Tickets go on sale on Monday 18 November October at 19:00.
Refund policy: Ticket refunds will only be given if the CUBWTS secretary is emailed 72 hours or more prior to the event and we are able to reallocate your ticket to another person. If you find that you are unable to attend after this time, it is your responsibility to re-sell your ticket.
